Bruze Whane, mutant bat:

Bruze involuntarily recoils at the ghastly horror of eyes and mouths.

The humble servant of the sacred pantheon of Dhee Zhee Khamix thinks it must be a fell minion of the mutant monster-gods of Marr-Vhel, given the proximity to their mysterious realms... perhaps a lesser deity, mentioned briefly in the holy illuminated scriptures, known as Mhodok.

He struggles to keep the bile in his throat.

The Long Route, Day 39, Noon

Vol hears the bean-bag mass address him and then responds, “Trying to earn some coin. But that doesn’t involve you, so move along and bother these newcomers!” He then ignores Jiminy and helps move supplies from the cart to the drot swyne.

The pack swyne takes to its new burden, but looks at the other swyne wondering why it’s being separated.

Jiminy Gurglesquelch, Trade Good

Jiminy's many eyes look briefly heartbroken to be so casually dismissed by Vol, but this is entirely washed away as its attention turns to the party. "Sssshay, where rrrrrrrrrrrr are you guysh going ngngngng? What mmmm are you doing? Hhhow're you hhhhhhhh schtocked for fffffffffood?"

As two or three mouths coordinate to speak this message, other mouths grumble, gurgle, cough, and murmur independently.

Jiminy sloshes over towards the others and begins peering curiously at their stuff.

Blixx

Blixx looks at Jiminy with a mixture of sadness and horror. Blixx thinks "First Impressions Blixx." "Hey Jiminey, you want to travel with us for a while?""Hey Vol, maybe you could throw in some provisions too, seeing as how you are giving us several more mouths to feed." Blixx says, but keeping it good natured. "No Offense, Jiminy." Blixx grins.

Jiminy Gurglesquelch, So Many Mouths to Feed
Mimdalf wrote:"Hey Jiminey, you want to travel with us for a while?"

"Hey Vol, maybe you could throw in some provisions too, seeing as how you are giving us several more mouths to feed." Blixx says, but keeping it good natured. "No Offense, Jiminy." Blixx grins.
As if to demonstrate, one of Jiminy's mouths purses its lips to pick up a pebble from the ground, tentatively chew on it. Deciding it is inedible, the mutant spits it out of an entirely different mouth on the other side of his body.

The Long Route, Day 39, Noon

Vol glares at Blixx. “Why would we give up needed provisions?” He says. “This thing has been pestering us since we encountered it just outside of Hagalton. It has a voracious appetite and I ‘gave’ it to you as a joke!” Vol shakes his head and laughs with this companions.

The brute, Urgor, kneels down and slices a small incision on each leg of ‘Chops’. The swyne squeals at each incision, but stops after the procedure. Urgor grunts to Vol and he nods in acknowledgment.

The red-skinned dwarf begins coughing and moves away from the group before he belches forth a tiny fireball.

Supplies have been fully transferred from the cart to the drot swyne. Oor-zak harnesses the cart to ‘Bacon’ and makes ready to depart for Hagalton.

Bruze doesn't laugh at Vol's "joke." His inhuman face and taloned hands are still, motionless, as he watches the wastelanders leave. Then he helps Oor-zak with the cart.

This dark, terrible world. What is to come of it all? The young acolyte shudders to think what kind of Men will be found at Haggletown.

The Long Route, Day 39, Afternoon

Vol’s band heads west to find the ruins of Sott’ Urwa. They informed you that Hagalton offers the supplies that you seek for sustained adventuring in the Gam’A Zone. There, the merchants of the bazaar will buy and sell goods and offer trade contracts for specific items known or rumored to be inside the Gam’A Zone.

"Comrades, we need to take stock of the things we have collected so far"Blixx begins inventory of the carts items. "We need to make sure the things that could be of use to us are in the right hands and what we can give up in trade for supplies, I do not think I care much for that group that just left there is the stink of chaos about them."

Jack "Well you are an interesting fellow aren't you Jiminy." the former lawman goes to aid Blixx in loading up the cart.

Belial is still visibly freaked out by their new companion, butSo, uh...dude. I used to be buds with a bonobo who had lots of extra eyes. He could see things the rest of us can't- he could see tiny shit, and heat, and sounds. You got anything like that?

Dreading what lies ahead, Bruze nonetheless climbs back up into the radioactive sky to serve as lookout on the journey to Haggletown.

The Long Route, Day 40-43

Travel for the next four days is uneventful, save the occasional idiosyncrasies of your new companion Jiminy.

On day 43, you reach the trade settlement of Hagalton. The place is full of activity, with many travelers and traders plying their wares. The town is at the crossing of two roads, the Long Route and the Crooked Road that runs north to south.

Beyond Hagalton to the east is a distant structure known as the Irunfross Bridge. This bridge is the only crossing of the Crack in the Earth, a chasm that runs north and south to the limits of exploration. Shear winds pull down into the chasm, causing a haunting, howling wind to permeate the local environment. The domain of Lantica is on the other side of the bridge and the Long Route continues to Nuv Vano, which lies on the shores of the Eastern Sea.

The sun hangs low in the western sky and the promise of room and board is a welcoming respite from your month-long, wilderness journey.

Belial moves a little faster, clearly glad to see something that resembles civilization. Most excellent! We can sell off some of our salvage, maybe get a good bath- and some good shrooms, too...

The young chiropteran pilgrim descends from the heavens with a leathery flap. Aside his friends as they approach the crossroad settlement, he is filled with trepidation at what kind of amoral society they might find, unversed in the sacred teachings of Dhee Zhee Khamix.
