CHAPTER 3b: Out of the Gam'A Zone

#1 Post by Norjax »

...

Unless the majority changes their minds, you will proceed with the journey out.

The Gam'A Zone, Day 32-33

You force-march to the next hill and leave the vicinity of the bugs. You rest all day and night for day 32 (deciding against night travel). You resume the journey out on day 33, making your way to the vicinity of the northern canyon.

Image

Striking camp between the canyon and eastern hill, you settle in for the night. As the night unfolds, everyone on watch witnesses colorful lightning storms to the west, over the canyon. The storms do not appear to move any closer to your location nor do they produce any noticeable sounds. After 4 hours, the lightning subsides and a glowing violet haze fills the canyon beginning 10 feet below the upper edge of the canyon wall.

Actions?

Was Bart able to figure out Ghars wrist device or how the whip charges?

Blixx

The wrist device is still a mystery.

I'm not sure if by 'charges' you mean activated, but the whip's function is explained below. It is assumed that the 'eggs' are power cells.

Norjax wrote:The energy whip has a metal and artificial bone handle anchored to a thin filament, of unknown material. When the handle is squeezed, the filament is charged with electrical energy if the power belt is worn (from the Thorax leader). The belt has 12 egg-shaped nodules connected to a leather-like band. 6 have a small, red light that shines at the top. 1 of the ‘eggs’ light shines intermittent, and the remaining 5 lights are dark. The weapon system looks old and worn.

A successful hit required the target to Save vs. Stun or be immobile for 1d6 rounds. A natural ‘20’ will require two successful saves.

Bruze is heavyhearted and crestfallen to leave the Gam'A Zone with his holy pilgrimage incomplete.

On the long journey, the mutant acolyte of the God of Night will continue to provide First Aid to himself and any who need it.

First Aid: [1d20] = 12, Heals: [2d3] = 2
First Aid: [1d20] = 20, Heals: [2d3] = 4
First Aid: [1d20] = 15, Heals: [2d3] = 4

I should have made this clear. Once you fail first aid on a patient, you may not attempt another first aid until after they reach maximum hit points.

Anyone else, with First Aid, may try the same patient until someone succeeds or all fail.

The only one who may benefit from a successful First Aid is Oor-zak. You may use one of your rolls to heal his remaining 1 hit point.

Belail still may try to perform First Aid on Bruze.

The Gam'A Zone, Day 33 night

Blixx, Bart and Belail feel and illness coming on. Their wounds, that were inflicted by the Thorax Scavenger’s arm spikes, have become tender and swollen.

Dudes- I think we got some kind of gnarly infection. I hope it's not, like, serious. Belial flushes out his wounds with water.

I don't remember if we have any sort of alcohol in the party's gear. If we do, Belial will use that instead of water.

Blixx

Blixx is worried, he usually doesn't get sick, he will try using some of his killer bee honey, (It's alcoholic) and try his best cleaning his wounds again. "Ugh, I hate bugs!" Blixx coughs.

Bart, MH

Despite, feeling Ill, Bart examines the metal mans device. He scarcely remembers Ghar using it.
He toils with it for four hours before resting, perhaps sleep or death will reveal its secrets.

Examination of That's wrist device [1d100] = 61

That's equals Ghar's, blasted auto correct!

The Gam'A Zone, Day 33 night

Bart's condition improves after Bruze performs first aid. Blixx and Belial are still suffering ill effects.

Bart is unable to determine the function of the wrist device.

In game terms, one is allowed unlimited four hour sessions to try and figure out this level of technology until there is success or the item is damaged.
