CHAPTER 3a: The Thorax Scavengers

The Gam'A Zone, Day 31, Night

As you regain awareness and react to your surroundings, the first thing noticed are eight bipedal roach-beings standing over Ghar. The construct human lies motionless with sparks shooting out of joints in his body. One carries a whip that glows with blue, cracking energy. The others stab the android with spears as its limbs twitch to the spear’s jabs and twists. As the Scavengers attack the android’s body, their incomprehensible language of chirps and clicks brakes into a garbled, repeated, common tongue word:

“Motter, motter, motter!”

Those without night vision, echolocation or other means to see in the dark suffer a -2 attack roll penalty.

Those who have not rolled initiative, please do so.

sirravd is unable to continue with the game; Ghar is destroyed.

Jack "well I wanted adventure dammit now i have gotten it." since I have one of the heavy blasters that I failed to add to my sheet what is the stats for a macro to use one? reaching for the heavy blaster he took off a pigmon and firing at the nearest bug.
Initiative [1d10+1] = 6+1 = 7
Initiative [1d10+1] = 4+1 = 5 Bolt Action Rifle [1d20+2] = 9+2 = 11 to hit [1d12] = 9 dmg

Belial stands erect, spreading his wings. He snarl/roars, then charges- ready to stab or slash with his assegai.

Here's hoping he can manage a little demoralization before he closes with one of these things.

Once more they were beset by Hhaanq-Pimm, evil monster god of plagues of insects! Ghar, the machine avatar of the gods was dead!

Consumed with lust for vengeance, the disciple of darkness swooped in silently behind one of the murderous cockroach men, trying to mercilessly eviscerate it with his savage claws.


Bruze: Initiative: [1d10+1] = 5+1 = 6
Bruze: Claws: To Hit: [1d20+2] = 5+2 = 7, Damage: [1d10+2] = 10+2 = 12

Oor-Zak hurls a spear at the giant insect man with the glowing whip before readying his ax to charge.

Initiative: [1d10] = 2

spear thrown (in the dark): to hit [1d20-2] = 2, damage [1d8+2] = 8+2 = 10 I think that's a miss :)

Frank lets out a curse as he sees his poor robot companion get destroyed, but he never loses his focus on keeping his Rifle tight in his hands and braced against his shoulder as he takes aim at one of the Insectoids standing over his friend's remains and he takes a deep breaths, lets it out and squeezes the trigger....



OOC Please make the attack roll for me, 1 shot at one of the Thorax Scavengers with the Bolt-action Rifle

[11] Luke fires at the Scavenger with the energy whip (Thorax #1) [AC15], but misses.

[7] Jack joins his mutant comrade, firing at the nearest Scavenger [AC14] but misses too.

[7] Thorax #4 (Axe) moves forward and strikes Jack (Random, 1 =Frank, 2=Jack, 3=Jack)) for 6 points of damage!

Thorax, Axe = [1d20+6] = 12+6 = 18, [1d8] = 6 dmg.
Random = [1d3] = 3

[6] Bruze attempts to move silently against the bugs, but the roachoids are already alert. He savagely attacks one
of the roach-men, but cannot get past their armored defense [AC14].

Thorax #2 & #3 engage with Bruze and the Short Sword strikes the bat-man for 3 points of damage.

Thorax, S. Sword = [1d20+6] = 11+6 = 17, [1d6] = 3 dmg.

Thorax #6 & #7 throw their spears into the group, targeting Jack, Blixx, Bart, Oor-zak and Belial. (Random 1-5, in order)

The melee is beginning to get thick, but can a shot fired at #5 on the map be safely done without hitting others if one misses?
