Yes, a roll is required to hit and break the glass/clay. Damage is not necessary; a hit will automatically break it.

Blixx

The Gam'A Zone, Day 30, Night

Combat, Round 7 & 8

Belial and Blixx remain unconscious and Bruze continues to shelter them.

Frank finishes his makeshift flask bomb and motions to Oor-zak. The mutant ape focuses his mind on the container and lifts it slowly and into the path of the bee swarm.

Luke and Jack fire their guns at the container. One of the two hits; causing the oil to spray and burst into a fireball. Several of the bees catch fire and four drop to the ground as dead, burning husks.

OOC: The Difficulty Class for this: A rifle shot is Very Easy (5) and a pistol shot is Easy (10). Luke was the one who hit.

Ghar watches the display and calmly walks over and pokes one of the dead bees with his pole arm.

Bart whistles in amazement at the sight of the flaming bees.

The remaining bees (7) buzz away, seeking the shelter of the hollow tower.

Oor-Zak surveys the mess around them...smoldering campfires, dead bees, and two unconscious companions. "Maybe when flying-monkey-man wake up, he finally learn lesson. Teach to not go looking for trouble...trouble already looking for him."

The Gam'A Zone, Day 30, Night

Here is your current situation: (Map)

Image
Image

You have destroyed the cart; making the fires that kept the bees at bay. Without the cart, you are not able to haul the booty from the pigmonn camp. In addition, you will have to discard some of the rations.

Using the Drot Swyne as pack animals, you are able to carry enough supplies to exit the Gam’A Zone and just reach Nuv Vano. Since you battled during the night, you will have to rest for 12-hours before starting the journey.

Where will you make camp for the day and how do you plan on getting to Nuv Vano?

Cthul Hand Luke, mutant

"Damn varmints," Luke mutters and kicks one of the dead bees.

"Head straight north to the Long Trail path, and take it to Nuv Vano?"

Oor-Zak grunts in agreement too.

We should rest here, pack up the drot swine, and head to town.

Frank Rock; veteran human

After the make-shift flask bomb worked and dropped several bees and scared the rest of them off; Frank closed his eyes and let out a breath of relief and exhaustion.

"Man, I sure am glad that WORKED….I sure don't want my final battle to have been against frickin' giant bees." Glancing over at the downed members of the group, Frank frowns and asks; "They okay?"

Upon hearing Oor-zak and Luke's assessments of the situation/proposal for where to go from here, Frank nods and says; "Yeah, that sounds about right to me too. Let's get some rest, hope those stung fellas shake it off some and then get moving." Frank will proceed to pack up his equipment, help pack others' equipment in such a way that it could be easily loaded on the Swine and then clean his weapons.

The Gam'A Zone, Day 30, Night

After a few minutes, Belial and Blixx regain consciousness. Both are sore all over their bodies, but otherwise O.K. The fires are beginning to burn out and are no longer producing heavy smoke. Sleep and watch schedules are established knowing that you need to sleep close to noon, due to the lack of rest tonight.

You spend the next hour organizing you camp and recovering the Drot Swyne. Your plan is to head back north, along the same route that you ventured into the Gam’A Zone and then cross the barrier and connect with the Long Route (This should take just over 4 days). Once there, you will travel east along the route until you reach Nuv Vano.

Hit Points:
Bruze = 32 (First Aid Applied)
Belial = 31 (First Aid Applied)
All others at maximum.

Blixx

Blixx moans and crawls to a quiet place and sits up. He fumbles for his canteen and drinks deeply. He waits patiently for his head to stop spinning.

The Gam'A Zone, Day 31, Early Night

The rest of the night for Day 30 is uneventful, as you kept a wary eye on the bee hive tower. After sleeping until noon, you set off to the north shadowing the route you took entering the Gam’A Zone. The exposed tower with the saktrap was silent, but you still made haste in passing by.

After the saktrap tower, you traveled into the early evening and kept your distance from the sinkholes of the potential ant people. You pause in the open desert weighing the options of camping here or force marching to the vicinity of the mound with the excavated holes.

What's the disadvantage of the forced march? Would Bruze and Belial not heal?

Bruze Whane, mutant bat:

The pious acolyte of the one true Church says a holy benediction that the grim Lord of Darkness, Bhatt Mhann, guard over their night passage.

As they retreat to Nu Vano, Bruze feels a deep sense of failure. He prays they can quickly resupply and return to continue his holy pilgrimage for the illuminated manuscripts of Dhee Zhee Khamix.

Belial has been very quiet during all this- both from the lingering pain of his bee stings, and from the embarrassment of being the cause of the latest problem. He has volunteered to carry as much as he can, gritting his teeth and knuckling along as the load presses on his stings.

Would building a travois make it easier to haul more of our stuff? If so, Belial will be the volunteer to drag it.
