CHAPTER 2a: To Kill the Pigmonn!

#1 Post by Norjax »

...

Into the Gam’A Zone, Day 29, Night

Here’s what I have pieced together from all the majority ideas and preferences. Please correct anything that is out of order.

As predicted, the pigmonn group makes its way east, towards your location. They camp for the night approximately 2 miles from your base camp. Their camp layout is similar to the night before:

Image

The location where Bart has set up his camp (Blue), ends up being about a mile from the pigmonn camp (Green). There you have dug a series of holes at Bart’s location that are usable as fighting positions, with multiple fall-back positions. Your camp is Orange on this map:

Image

So then, Bruze, Belial and Blixx will collect rocks to use as missiles to drop on the pigmonn. Based on their strength, this is the load out for rock ‘bombs’:

Blixx: (1) 1d4 or (2) 1d2
Bruze: (1) 1d12 or (2) 1d8 or (4) 1d4 or (8) 1d2
Belial: (1) 1d12 or (2) 1d8 or (4) 1d4 or (8) 1d2

The fliers must also discard all weapons or gear other than clothing and empty sacks/packs (used to carry multiple rocks). If they choose not to carry multiple rocks, they may strap one weapon to their body.

The aerial attackers get an initial surprise attack, +1 to hit.
They also receive the following cumulative bonuses:

+1 for air attack (each round)
+4 to hit the sleeping pigmonn (first round only)
+2 to hit the pigmonn on watch (first round only)

Is anyone else following the fliers to the pigmonn camp?
Who is positioned in the foxholes waiting for the pigmonn to come at Bart?
What does Bart plan to do once the pigmonn approach?

Frank Rock; veteran Human

Frank waits for the action in Bart's cart, triple-checking his Rifle to make sure it's ready to go and keeping his sword strapped to his back in case the fight gets up close and personal.

"Whenever you're ready my friend"; he says to Bart; keeping crouched down low with his rifle resting on the edge of the cart and ready to fire at the first Pigmon who comes into his sights....

Bruze Whane, mutant bat:

The acolyte of Bhatt Mhann thinks a moment. "Anyone stealthy should join the flyers' assault. Taking out as many sleeping Pigmonn as possible in the first moment of the battle will determine the outcome."

Norjax:
When you say sleeping Pigmonn get a +4 to be hit on the first round only, does that mean the aerial bombardment of rocks will wake them?

If we don't bombard, and sneak into camp and kill the waking guards all silent-like, will that prevent the sleeping Pigmonn from waking?
Thanks.

Yes, first round only. Unless you kill all the pigmonn in the first attack, they will wake up or be woken up.
If we don't bombard, and sneak into camp and kill the waking guards all silent-like, will that prevent the sleeping Pigmonn from waking?
Thanks.
If you are able to successfully sneak up and kill the two guards in the first attack, then the others won't be woken.

Guys, based on that reply, should we plan a stealthy ninja ambush of the two Pigmonn, rather than the aerial bombardment?

Also, how many of us have Stealth or Camoflage abilities? Thanks.

Blixx

"I am for the stealthy assassin attack, where half of us attack one guard and the other half attack the second. We should use melee weapons and kill them as quickly as possible." "Dropping rocks doesn't look like it will do much" We need to overwhelmingly attack their watch to assure them being neutralized, then we can concentrate on the sleeping pigman." " I am also bred to the night."

If Blixx uses his Vampiric powers, are these subtle so that he could suck the very life out of the sleeping pigman or is it a very noticeable assualt. Blixx could sneak up to the sleeping pigman and just drain their lives away, I'm sure by morning they would all be dead... Muhahahahah

You could use Vampiric Field against the sleepers without waking them. They would appear, to the guards, to be in a deep sleep. The rate of drain is 2d4 hp from all in the affected radius, not 2d4 from everyone in the radius. So, you may drain multiples slowly or one rapidly. If you apply some camouflage, it will be difficult for the sentries to spot you hovering silently above the target(s). You will have to observe when the pigmonn stop breathing in order to determine when they are dead.

Belial

The baboon has collected his pile of throwable stones near Bart's cart. he has no interest in bombing the pigmonn. Dudes, I'm gonna do the hellbeast thing on one of the guards. I'll glide in low, grab him, eat his stupid face, and leave him in a pile. If I hit him fast enough, he won't have time to do more than shit himself.
With that, Belial takes off, going high to get plenty of momentum for his glide.

Bart, MH

"Remember to take out that energy pigmon, if you can." Bart whispers to the assassin, "Did he have anything to distinguish him?"

Bart waits for the first wave of the attack, reins in hand.
He plans to drive the cart around the camp, getting Frank in distance to hit, maybe run down a few pigmon. Or just be there for retreating to the foxholes.

ML, what is the top speed of the cart and d'swine? What would be the pros and cons dice-wise.

At running speed, the cart team can outpace the pigmonn. This pace can be maintained for 1 minute or 6 combat rounds.

Bruze Whane, mutant bat:

Leaving his boulder, Bruze also silently takes wing up into the black sky. He turns toward the Pigmonn camp.

He plans to disembowel the guard that Belial doesn't.
