MCC Conversion

#241 Post by Norjax »

If you are unaware, Goodman Games (The creator of Dungeon Crawl Classics), has developed a post-apocalyptic, science fantasy version of DCC called Mutant Crawl Classics. This game is not officially released yet (Kickstarter supporters have received their advanced copies) but it is an active, living game that will be in development for many years to come. That said, Mutant Future is a “dead” game no longer in active development. Although both games are based in the OSR/ D20 realms, there is much more material from the active DCC/MCC communities. There is also a derivative of DCC known as Crawling Under a Broken Moon, which is a licensed sci-fantasy version of DCC (developed before MCC was conceived).

That said, I’d like to switch our rules system to MCC. The Wretched Regions would remain the campaign setting, but will utilize most of the MCC rules (There are deviations which I will explain later). By switching our Wretched Regions game from Mutant Future to Mutant Crawl Classics, we will be able to utilize published materials from DCC, MCC and CUBM to enhance and populate the game world.

I’d like to hear thoughts and concerns, before I present more information (We wouldn’t change until we finish our current adventure segment).

Yes! Would love to! I am sure there will be a PDF version released as well as the print one.

As I own NONE of these games it doesn't much matter to me. :)

I will say that I have no issue with the game system as is (at least....as much of it as I understand from playing in this game); but do whatever works best for you amigo! It is the DM/GM and players who truly make a game work or not.....the system is very secondary (in my opinion anyway); and you've always done a FANTASTIC job of making this game entertaining.

Thanks for the positive attitude and vote of confidence. :) Mister-Kent and Broggrim have also expressed interest in the MCC system.

I will move forward, then, and post info about the conversion and rule differences. We won't change until the group returns to Hagalton for resupply.

sorry all I was involved in a cart accident on Friday, and I'm alright, but i have no car at the moment so I've been dealing with all that and haven't really paid much attention to the games here. Once things get back to somewhat normal I should be back to my usual posting pace.

Am I the only one here thinking of the giant space bees from Futurama in our current scenario?

I'm back, guys- we spent a few days in North Carolina, hanging out on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'll be putting a bunch of very amateurish pictures and video clips on my FaceBonk account, if you wanna see. Search for 'urson black' to find me.

Hmm could we maybe use the ropes we used to climb into the tube to hoist Bart out?

Frekken's rope was used for entry.

Inventory shows Bart, Jack, Blixx and Frank all have ropes too. I'm not sure if its on their persons or in the cart pulled by the Drot Swyne.

So that could work then we can somehow rig up one or two of the other ropes and hoist Bart out of the tube.

Yes, so long as there is some explanation on how you would go about it.
