Zo will put away his short sword, and ready his sling, but will not attack just yet. He'll approach to 30' from a night-man if he can do this without being in the entangle range (will ask Tempus if it is not apparent). We could try various tongues, but I don't think they will speak. We don't want to tarry long before destroying them. (Zo makes a meaningful glance towards the hole).

Lumenor nocks another arrow, but holds his fire whilst the druid attempts to communicate with the creatures. He keeps an eye out for other approaching threats.

Lumenor will cover the group.

"Well, I think it might not be the wisest thing to get directions into a lair from a blind person..." says Lucas, his voice tinged with both excitement and sadness.

"Tempus, can you ask him who the boss is and how many of them there are?"

Tempus calls out to the grey-skinned creatures in every language he speaks - Common, Elvish (though Lumenor finds his accent distasteful), Dwarven, Goblin, Gnomish, his own native Halfling, and Orcish. Zo calls out in two foul languages that Lumenor understands, and the young human boy finally follows with a rumbling, deep language none of the others understand.

But the two creatures, scared, angered, and helpless, face towards them, white globes in the eyesockets unseeing. They grunt, and give no indication they understand any of the greetings or exhortations sent their way.

Tempus sighs and gets out his sling. ”It was a long shot. Nothing much in our world is ready to parley and make peace. Let us put them out of their misery then!”

He whips a sling bullet at the nightman ok the right.

Lumenor observes the failed attempts at communication with some regret. He maintains his watch for additional intruders while the others do what needs to be done. He begins to make note of where his arrows ended up so that he may retrieve them.

Lumenor, from his perch in the oak tree, watches for other enemies as Tempus and Zo kill an entangled nightman with a bullet and stone from a sling. Lucas, much less proficient with his weapon, sends his whizzing wide at the other, much beefier creature.

Actions? Please give 3-4 attack rolls with next update so we can move this along. Thanks!

It takes six stones and bullets to bring down the final nightman, but after savage howls and moans his form falls silent and is swallowed by the writhing grass. Lucas misses with all 4 while Tempus hits with all of his - a big gulf lies in the skills of the halfling and human.

The grass, as if on cue, ends its writhing and bends with the breeze. It is nearly completely dark. On the bodies of the six nightmen they find a total of 49 silver pieces. The sling bullets and stones are lost to the night and the thick grass, at least in this dark. Lumenor is able to recover one arrow from the body of a fallen foe.

Tempus, Lucas, Zo please deduct 5 stones or bullets from inventory. Lumenor please deduct 3 arrows.

Azor's wound from his ribcage seeps blood. Lucas inspects the gash in his thigh, while Tempus seems unbothered by the scratch on his face.

”Here boy, come to me. Good lad. Stay!” the halfling says before he begins a spell of healing upon the hound.

[1d8] = 8

”Here good man. I can try and heal the wound if you would like?”

Zo creeps over to the hole & peers in. (If he was to enter, he would have to crawl or slide down it?) I think it is 3' high with a slope that would be walk-able for shorter characters.

Lumenor continues to watch over the group as they rest and recover from the battle.

"There's no knowing how these creatures will react to the scent of decay, perhaps we should remove these corpses." the cloaked sentry suggests.

The druid uses more of his natural healing powers to staunch the bleeding from Lucas' wound. The young boy is not quite at full health, but does feel better.

Zo creeps towards the hole. He peers within. It is now dark enough that his infravision begins to take over. The entry is steep enough that even the tall Lucas can enter without ducking too much. Zo detects no movement or sound within.

Lumenor draws the conclusion that these nightmen must have other keen senses if they are blind. He suggests moving the dead bodies before they begin to rot.

Tempus agrees that moving the bodies is a good plan. He begins to help as best he can.

”Perhaps we should lay in wait for another patrol instead of entering straight away. They won’t come out during daylight hours seemingly, so we should rest then. There were many of the nightmen within the hollow the last time we entered. I am out of healing magic already so that’s something to keep in mind. he says to the group, waiting for their thoughts.
