Angus draws Ilfrien's sword and charges at the spell-casting foe.
Leddilir (THAC0 17): [1d20] = 13 [1d8+2] = 2+2 = 4/[1d12+2] = 2+2 = 4 (SM/L), Crit: [1d100] = 5
Please add +4 if that somehow hits and the opponent is a type of critter Angus gets a bonus against.

Galan readies his sling and lets a bullet fly at the boss man
[1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17 to hit
[1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4 damage

Go ahead and roll [1d4+1] for each bolt...or I can do it when I update events.

Sticking to the shadows, Figgis waits for the right moment before striking out from behind in a backstab with his shortsword.
Per my discussion with Alebelly, I'm going to roll as if the backstab is successful.
Backstab To Hit: [1d20+4] = 2+4 = 6 Damage: [1d6-1] = 1-1 = 0+[1d6-1] = 3-1 = 2
Oof...
Should have stuck to missile weapons

Re: Chapter 15 - To the Liberated City of Strod...and Below
Our adventurers press the fight!
DM rolls dice
Figgis melts back into the shadows of the wooden crates and boxes…
Dandelion, scrapes on her face, thrusts her trident at her bleeding, and enraged, opponent. With amazing agility, he barely manages to evade a prodigious thrust. He grins at the surprised half-orc. ”I told you” *swipe* ”to stop!” *swipe*
Creature attack Dandelion [1d20] = 18, [1d20] = 15, [1d100] = 35, [1d100] = 30
Damage to Dandelion [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7, [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2
His first swipe connects with Dandelion’s helm with a loud CLANG! and his second finds a gap in her banded armor, ripping a wound in her abdomen. He calls to the room. ”Drop your weapons…or DIE!!!” Aching from her wound, her second thrust is less powerful and the points of the trident fail to penetrate the skin. Dandelion, though wounded, is far from falling.
Chet, still a bit clumsy with his spetum, tosses the pole arm aside and attacks with his fists, calling for help. His opponent dodges a flurry of punches, and opens another serious wound in the monk’s abdomen with its large, jagged sword.
Creature attack Chet [1d20] = 10, crit [1d100] = 87, damage [1d10] = 7
Chet’s opponent’s eyes sparkle with evil glee. It speaks through a sharp-toothed smile ”You die today. Then I kill your friends!” Chet attempts to kick him in return, but his blows are again dodged. The monk is now seriously wounded.
Kablamicus chides his owl and turns to the battle. With a commanding voice, he points towards the two creatures in the back. Bright bolts shoot forth from his finger…
Talker [1d100] = 40
Caster [1d100] = 74
But the bolts explode harmlessly a foot from the heads of Kablamicus’ targets!! The wizard’s spell did not harm either creature. The ‘talker’ laughs hideously. The caster seems not to notice. Instead, it focuses on Angus, who waits at the doorway to receive Yenny’s benediction. The caster points a black-clawed finger at the ranger. But just as it’s opening its mouth, Galan’s stone strikes it in the jaw!
Yenny finishes her prayer, and Angus charges. He opens a wound on the caster’s thigh with his magical sword note +2 bonus for charge and +1 for Bless on his to-hit roll.
Hyde and his opponent trade blows, but neither is able to penetrate the other’s defenses.
Creature attack Hyde [1d20] = 5, crit [1d100] = 43, damage [1d10] = 2
Figgis swiftly appears from the shadows and attempts to drive his short sword into the back of Hyde’s opponent! But the dwarf’s blade is turned away by the thick creature’s skin. The force of the blow loosens Figgis’ grip on his weapon!
[rolls]
I rolled initiative and crit/fumble for Figgis…it came up a fumble.
Figgis init [1d6] = 4, crit [1d100] = 11
Fumble outcome [1d100] = 49
The outcome is ‘lose grip on weapon, roll DEX or less on d20 or no attack next round.’ Tamerlaine, please include a d20 in your next update. If higher than DEX, you drop your short sword but can still use other weapons.
Also please note that all enemies are now in melee, so if you fire missile weapons at them you risk hitting an ally as outlined in house rules.
Battle map:
Date: 25 Culling, Year 44
Time: 10:09
Conditions: 44F, damp
Known Spells in Effect: Bless for Yenny, Kablamicus, Angus, Galan, Figgis through 10:15
Light bearers: Yenny’s bracelet
Injury Status: Galan, Dandelion, Hyde lightly wounded; Chet moderately wounded
Talker lightly wounded, Sw1, Sw2, caster moderately wounded (party estimates)

So, we do know whether their AC is 1 or better, or only hit by magical weapons?

I'm sure Chet would appreciate this, but Shield can only be cast upon the caster (to be redundantly redundant).Bluehorse wrote:Kablambicus

Galan's sling stone had an effect, so the party would know that non magical weapons harm these things.onlyme wrote:So, we do know whether their AC is 1 or better, or only hit by magical weapons?

Yenny casts silence 15' radius centered on A. "Chet if you need help, get your butt over here!" she yells. She then mutters "It's so much more difficult after they fall."

Uh oh - the mage has to touch Chet for him to become invisible.
Does he want to enter the room and touch him? Might make the mage a target...

Mages are complicated! LOL! Sorry everyone. Life was easier when all I had to say was I hit it with my sword.
Okay... Magic seems out for now. Throwing a dart puts my friendlies at risk, correct?
