Re: OOC IV
That's a clever idea, but Sw1 was the one that slipped. 'Talker' was the one that killed Chet. So taking that back won't really affect the outcome.

Re: OOC IV
Given the confusion, feel free to amend your post. Also, please include a d100.
Re: OOC IV
Well, crap. I guess I'll pull the post and try to think of something else, then.
Re: OOC IV
Dang! I missed the line about magical writing lining the room and didn't realize that SW1 was bargaining? and that it was my fault Chet was killed. Sorry Chet!

Re: OOC IV
I wouldn't worry about it. It wasn't obvious these things were bargaining. They aren't very good at it.
And the magical writing wasn't observed until after the battle was over. Given how quickly things moved, there's no way anyone would have noticed it.

Re: OOC IV
Sorry about that. I really thought I'd found the solution with the slipping.AleBelly wrote:Angus continues to deliberate over how best to use Chronia's tear...if at all.
But now...well, I'm thinking Angus won't use the Tear. I think I've been stalling because I don't see a single event that would save Chet without creating the risk of other bad things happening. In some sense, Chet made his choice (turning and fleeing) and died with the consequence. The tear is a mighty powerful thing, and we'll probably have some other clear event down the line that we'll unambiguously want to undo.
Chet was awesome, but entirely because of who was playing him. I'm sure his next PC will be awesome too. :/
I'll make an IC post shortly.
Re: OOC IV
well, i must say i am sad to see chet go, but it was bad luck, and chets lack of intelligence that got him. I am however excited to roll up a new character, so hopefully the player named Lucas Copernicus will be a great new addition
Re: OOC IV
"Lucas Copernicus?" I already love the name.
Re: OOC IV
I'm sure any character you roll and subsequently role will be awesome

Re: OOC IV
This is the first character I've seen that is worried about how he's going to eat. He's a new kind of elf, a Gutter Elf. LOL
Re: OOC IV
Gutter Elf! Yes! LOL

Re: OOC IV
Updates will be spotty this week - I'm traveling quite a bit. For those of you returning from the orc stronghold please figure out who gets the magical weapon and how you're going to split the non-Chet treasure (assuming you all agree to donate his coin to the monastery).
Re: OOC IV
The non-Chet treasure is just coin, right?
IIRC, Chet was the only one who was excited about the spetum/trident before. It's a cool weapon, but, well, weapon proficiencies are a PITA.

Re: OOC IV
At least one member of the party is proficient in the trident. You recovered 340 gp from the creatures as well as two jasper stones worth 50-100 gp each.
Re: OOC IV
Hopefully anyone who can use the trident will speak up.

Re: OOC IV
Yeah, I didn't want to assume anything in case the party wanted to sell the thing, but that's not the way I would go!
Re: OOC IV
An un proficient gnome illegally using a trident would be a thing of beauty, but Yenny will pass on asking for it!
Re: OOC IV
Dandelion, after politely waiting for the others to claim items, respectfully requests the honor of holding the trident. She tests it out and decides it might be something she could see herself using. Its not the same tone of stainless silver her current one is, but it still works with her armor.

Dandelion's going to be even more badass with that thing...
