OK, there are six ready to go. Ilfrien and Galan haven't said they're in, so as per usual procedure I won't include them unless they say otherwise. I'm going to lock this thread tonight and set the party off in a separate thread. Too much OOC for this one to be serviceable going forward...which is fine. Here are the details/other pieces of salient information to help plan:
Arnulf trained over the last week, so he'll only have the spells available to him on 1 Culling.
There are four diplomats, all mounted on horses, wearing good quality winter clothing. They bear swords (and probably armor under all that clothing), but the scabbard looks little used and the weapons are likely ceremonial. All are accompanied by one armored warrior each. All look pretty stout and are armed with hand axe and long sword, shield slung over their backs.
Each diplomat also has a second companion. Two are attired in studded leather armor (a man and a woman). They are mounted and carry long swords and daggers. No shields.
One is robed. Arnulf recognizes him from the mage's guild, but doesn't know anything else about him. He works under another luminary, and is mounted.
Finally, another is clearly a paladin of Perun. He avoids any small talk with the party, apparently considering them unworthy. He rides a horse with whom he has a good rapport.
The diplomats know where the Sambord fort is (kind of), and they will listen to the party for advice on the best route.
(we could RP this, but that always seems to devolve into bickering) But they already have a protocol in place. When they reach a quarter mile from the fort, the two mounted escorts clad in studded leather will ride forth to see if the Sambords will accept them. The others are to wait behind. If they don't want to do this, then the services of the party will be declined.
