Not really a big fan of playing at first level, but I won't say no.

OK.

So, the next campaign that I run on the Unseen Servant is going to be a sandbox type adventure where the main focus will be on character building and development. It will be an open world feel with a lot of story based mini adventurers and side quests. (no mega dungeons)

I have a bunch of ideas down on paper already. The biggest problem that I face now is finding the time to get it kicked off.

The good news for me is that I have just recently started up a really great face to face gaming group that I am now running games for every other weekend.

The bad news for me would be that it is taking up a lot of my free time for doing new things on here.

So, if there is still any interest in getting into an immersive character building type of campaign, please remain patient for a little while longer and I will get to work setting up the storyline and inviting players to join.

Thanks.

Thanks!!!!!

It was almost by accident really, which makes it even better.

My wife and I (Julie) have been trying to get into a good gaming group for a few years now but nothing we tried seemed to work very well. We begged our way into our first group a couple of years ago. That one didn't turn out too well with multiple conflicting attitudes and ideas of how things should be. After a short time, we just left that hot mess alone.

We continued to try to form something with a few of those players but kept getting the " I cant play on this day or that day". It is really hard to find a time when 7 or 8 players can all get together at the same time. That group fizzled out about a year ago after a few months of some seriously laborious sessions.

Then, after hearing that one of her co-workers had played a little 1E in the past and that he and his wife would be very interested in joining, I finally convinced Julie that she should ask around work for a few more players. Between the two of them, and in less than a week's time, I suddenly had 7 solid players lined up for our first session. We just played in our 4th session on Friday night and I must say that things couldn't be going any better.

I fell pretty fortunate to have found a great group of fun, intelligent, and involved players who are still interested in playing the old-school way.

That's cool, Rob! You playing 1E or 5E (although I suppose you could even be playing something else)? Your own creation or published adventures?

Also, see you guys next week! Thursday I'm helping set up True Dungeon so I don't know if I will see you then, although I'll probably go to Alex's party for dinner before my run through of TD as a reward for volunteering. I'll definitely see you Friday morning as we're all in Cory's game.

1E of course!

My own creation as of right now but, we will see what direction the group heads after that. I might spring some of the old classics on them eventually.

We took a half day on Thursday so we will be heading down at around noon. Hopefully we run into you either there or at the bar. Definitely ready for Fireball Island!!! :D

For those wondering what in the hell we are babbling about.......its only the best gaming convention in the world.
