Bandir Spellbringer - F1/M2 - Spell Armour & Ring +1: AC 5 (Armor 10 hp) - Bandir HP: 11 /11:
Bandir says, "That's the only way we'll get a wagon close enough to help us haul stuff back to town. Ruk can stash his horse and hide the wagon good enough probably as well. Let's get going shall we?"
Bandir worries how this group will hold up in combat.

Re: Chapter 2 Part 1: New Adventures
Rukiel the Fickle
The man who complained the most and loudest about not being able to bring his wagon and horse, at first, is strangely quiet when the group decides to accommodate this plan and take the road near Sparrow's Point. He honestly thought he was going to have a rough time of it, getting the barbarian of a man and the other 'horse-roasters' over to his side.
Rukiel mutters silent thanks to the fates that be for allowing this fortunate turn of events, and then proceeds into thanking himself for, clearly, he was in charge of making his own luck and could not always rely on the fickle nature of fate itself.
With a clap of the hands, he beams to everyone, "It's settled then! Everyone is here, yes? Onwards then! We have a mansion to raid."

Re: Chapter 2 Part 1: New Adventures
On the Road Once More!
The group of both new and old adventurers packs for their travel up the road north of Sparrow's Point, leaving only things that would weigh them down and not needed on this adventure in the once abandoned home in Northvale. With at least one or two steeds and the small wagon/cart that Rukiel has it makes travelling easier. The first part of travel from Northvale to Sparrow's Point goes uneventful seeing only the usual wildlife out and about and the occasional traveler between the two towns, townsfolk, farm hands, and others working as errand folk fetching supplies. They all wave at the group and say pleasantries and continue on their merry way.
The group is greeted at Sparrow's Point as they pass by. Just north of the logging village the usual sound of birds and squirrels quiets and the forest becomes eerily quiet. a slight breeze blows from the east and the horses give a little bit of a start. Something has obviously spooked the horses Rukiel has a hard time getting Bagel to continue forward. Everyone stops and looks around but can see nothing which also gives a bit of concern there should be at least something moving in the trees birds squrriels something but there is no sign of any wildlife near.
Actions?

Rukiel the Fickle
He knows that whenever Bagel starts acting up like this, something is amiss. It's that strange animal sixth sense that they have. Rukiel, having attempted in the past to hone this skill for himself, determined that he did not have enough primal instinct, the darned laws of the world weighing down on his actions.
Taking Bagel's advice, he stops the wagon and whispers to those ahead of him to stop if they haven't done so already. "Something isn't right here," Rukiel mentions as he loads a quarrel into his crossbow. "The animals have either wised up and started to learn to play hide n' seek, or something scared them away from their homes. I'd like to think it's the former, but Bagel says otherwise..."

Hantae
Hantae gets her shortbow out and set up, scanning around the whole time. It seems to quite. She moves to position herself next to the wagon so it covers one side of her.

Keathan pulls a sprig of mistletoe out and readies his bow, waiting to see what happens. "Let's see what happens before we attack please, I might be able to use this o our advantage."

Seeing Keathan pull out the sprig of mistletoe, lowers his bastard sword to his side so as to not appear immediately hostile.
Says, quietly to Keathan, "Now we either hope anyone out there understands it, or your God delivers us a blessed kiss."

Rukiel the Fickle
Rukiel hasn't the foggiest idea what that plant is for, and makes it plain to the others. "A plant? You are all lowering your weapons because he's raising a plant? ..... seriously?! Is it magic? Or is it the taste?" He eyes it more closely. "Doesn't look that filling to me..."

Re: Chapter 2 Part 1: New Adventures
On the Road to Adventure!
The lack of wildlife does draw the attention to everyone and the start to Bagel also alerts to something potentially dangerous. Everyone prepares for a fight of sorts. Readying weapons and calming steeds. Some even taking defensive positions behind the cart/wagon.
A rustling of the bushes and trees soon after does not surprise the group especially the alert barbarian. To no surprise a something large rushes out of the forest, at the group but two huge scorpions. The giant scorpions have a green carapace and yellowish green legs and pincers. The segmented tail is black, with a vicious stinger on the end. There is a bitter smell associated with the scorpion, which probably comes from the venom. They make an unnerving scrabbling sound as they move towards the group.
The party not being surprised gets a chance to react. The horses, mules and other steeds all buck up in a start of the huge scorpions. Each scorpion is about 4 foot long.

Quickly deciding against his first choice of spells, he quickly chants and waves the sprig of mistletoe at the forest causing the branches and underbrush to come alive and grasp at the scorpions.
