Part 5: Necromancer where for art thou?

#1 Post by GreyWolfVT »

During Krakus's watch nothing happens that causes any real alarm. He sees some creepy crawlers (normal sized insects and rats) gnaw on the large spiders other than that nothing happens. The watch after that also goes on uneventful. The group heals 2 HP for the rest and now can decide what actions to take and what their next move is.

Nothing was seen or heard of the rest of the rest period the spider corpses have been chewed up by the rats and other bugs/critters that came out while Krakus was on watch the other shifts saw nothing at all. Question is what do you wish to do now?

Krakus gives those a nudge with his foot that are still sleeping. Everyone up. DO we go about attacking them doors again? Or travel further down this tunnel searching for another way in?

Arthur Memorizes spells and Bandir does the same selecting 2 different spells to memorize.

They say, "You folks decide while we get our magic back."j

Bandir chooses Read and detect magic.

Crow suggests leaving the doors alone for now and moving on. Noticing that the spell throwers will be taking some time, he returns to the door that vexed him the day before. He'll listen again at the door before proceeding with dismantling any locking mechanism or traps that may have eluded him....

Arastor

Will do a (perception check?) on the floor and walls of the door he had scouted before to the east to see if he can see any signs of use and if so by what/how many, or see if there is any mechanism that he may have looked over before. If there is nothing he will give the door itself a good hard look, maybe jiggling the handle or kicking it to see what happens.

Bandir detects magic upon the magical items the group carries while walking to the doors. At the first set of doors nothing they appear as regular doors. sent PM to Arastor.

Arastor

sorry all. Sunday nights i commute for work.

The half-elf reports back from the eastern door. "i gave everything a good look. Other than our own markings and the shamblings of the zombies from before, there are no signs of use. The door still seems sealed tight as well. I would guess it was the door they came from though. That at least tells us something. Any signs of passage from this door?" He'll ask as he looks around, then having a thought he will get on the floor and see if he can see anything through the seam at the bottom of the door.

I'll speed this part up a tad. Arastor sees the same as the other door he checked not much other than the groups own tracks and the shambling from the zombies and ghouls the day before.

Bandir and Arthur suggest, "Perhaps there is a mechanism somewhere else that opens this doorway. Perhaps in the hall or a room nearby with a lever/button/pressure plate/hidden panel that activates this door? Let's all look closely in places we have already been if we cannot proceed past this area or move on and forget it." Bandir and Arthur do searches on the walls and floors all the way back to the pit trap and in the golem area. He ask crow to reset the pit trap in hope it might open one of the doors and checks the doors for results.

Crow stairs fiercely at the door. He is considering if he could hack it down with his broadsword. Thinking he probably can not, he considers hitting it anyway...

Crow resets the pit trap and continues to investigate the area for some type of mechanism.
