Part 1: The Village With No Name

#1 Post by GreyWolfVT »

The group moves onward towards the village following the road nothing more happens along the way. Doric's birds eventually decide to fly off back to their nest. You all can now see a small village no sign indicating a name of any sort. Very few to almost no folks are outside milling about. You can see the stream/river goes off up near the church and there is a very small stone bridge much smaller than the one you encountered on the road but made of similar design.

Selonis(Crow) looks over the town, "Hmm, how quaint. Shall we inspect it? I do believe that dastardly Inn is looking for a good inspecting." He winks to the others and gives a grin.

It would certainly suffice for a starting point.

What direction are we approaching from? This would help with making a decision. Also, we were to reconnoiter and checking the stables for the number of mounts and possibly getting a higher view from the loft may help if it is empty. Remember "the leader" is supposed to have some sort of "powers of persuasion" and walking openly enmasse like we are might give rise to immediate assault.

Doric listens and simply shrugs, villages and people not being his "zone of comfort"

Here is you "You Are Here" map:

You have come up on the road from the south west "bottom left corner" of the map near the stables, a tree and a small home. The object with the 10' 20' is the river/stream that runs in front of the church. There is a bridge that crosses said river to get to the church.

Lets split up then, each checking a place of interest. Just scouting, lets not get into trouble here. The meet back up at the Inn, which is believable for any travelers coming through the town, to discuss the state of affairs here.

Just so I understand when looking at the map, so you are changing the 10'/20' elevation lines into a stream and the church is on level ground with the rest of the village?

Nodding at the plan of action, Doric moves with confidence towards the stables, listening for what should be inside. Once there, with his staff in hand at the ready should it be needed, he cautiously opens the door

Selonis(crow) casually walks towards the Inn, a little happy pip in his steps, instead of going in he will walk around the corner and out of sight.

The Stables:
This long building is the village’s stables. Currently, you can see horses which is not uncommon for a stable. There are at least a dozen horses seen in the stables and there are still more stalls. You imagine most of the stalls must contain horses.

The Inn:
This building is unmarked but appears to be a modest, two-story inn. The sounds of raucous voices spill into the street.

Shay

Come on along with me Zylax! We casters must stick together. We can pass by a few of these buildings as we head for a drink at the Inn.

The Stables a closer scouting of the stables you see all the stable stalls are housing horses, ponies and one strangely has some goats in it. In one empty stall there is a pair of boots sticking out from some hay. Another stall has a man sleeping or passed out in a corner.

Doric will walk in quietly, moving in a manner that will not startle the horses. He will carefully kneel down to check the boots that stick out from the hay, but hopefully, be able to watch the sleeping man in the corner should he rouse or move unexpectedly

Arastor will quietly follow Doric into the stables and cover him as he inspects the boots.

Sorry this is a bit more difficult with a 3 way party split. Bare with me if you all will.

Stables: the examination of the boots in the hay reveals a dead body of a man you know not whom he is but he has signs of horse manure on his clothing and boots and the smell of horse possibly a stable worker. The man sleeping smells of booze his odor is prominent fro even the distance Doric is at likely the man got drunk killed this man and passed out on the stool.

Inn: The inn has only the front door to it and is two stories high Crow is not able to locate a back entrance unless he wishes to go in through a window. Do the others enter there inn? Also what is the count of folks at the Inn vs the Stables? My last count was 2 at the stables as everyone else went to the inn?
