Glimble attempts to help with the statue on Enoka but first he has to get back up "Damned turtles." the gnome grumbles jokingly.

Tella - Mage

Tella will hit the location the Fatman winked out existence from with a web spell, if the location is within range.

Roseheart feet float away - missing the attacking statues reach by inches! Roseheart is now safely above the thing.

Vek charges forward and the statue actually turns attention to him before he tries his crafty deception. It smashes him with two fists (8 total damage) and then Veks magical blade chops into animated stone. The two vicious chops being down the statue in an instant, and now it appears like your company is alone on the brilliantly lit sunny beach.

Then a pile of webs bursts into existence at the exact point that the fat man had disappeared from.

Enoka moves to the aide of the gate and finds a loose pile of dirt, an old ant colony, and takes it into hand and moves forward planning to try and use it to locate the fat man.

Glimble gets up to his feet, looking one last time for that turtle.

Roseheart floats in a circle and examines the area. What else can be seen? Is the gate still open?

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

Vek looks for the Fatman's footprints in the sand where he was last standing. He's careful not to spoil them with his own.

(Anyone got True Seeing or Detect the Invisible?)

"It's over, Fatman. Your men are dead. Your slaves are free. We own your keep and your treasure.
"Surrender now and we'll give you a quick death. Otherwise, we'll give you plenty of time to remember all your heinous sins.
"Last chance. ...3...2... "

I know this is a real stretch but could those of us with infravision be able to see an invisible being? Granted we'd have to make it darker...Answer to Inferno i have no true seeing or detect invisibility type spells. If I did Glimble wouldn't have tripped over an invisible turtle. ;)

Glimble checks on everyone "Does anyone need any healing before we go of fighting invisible mages?"

Enoka:

Enoka climbs up onto the magical web and slow drops sand throughout looking for deviations in the individual grains to suggest an unseen object.

Sorry, blew my Faerie Fire in the previous room thinking the Fatman was in there.

Tella - Mage

Tella will move away from her comrades (avoiding area effect spells) but toward the webs also, looking for any sign of da'fatman.

As you fan out searching for an invisible Fat Man, suddenly the gate winks out of existence. A moment later a small, but heavy, treasure chest plops to the ground.

You are all alone on the bluff by the raging sea. If the Fat Man is here, you can't find him.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

"...1... Have it your way, Fatman. I'll be happy to oblige you."

If the treasure chest is shut, Vek rasps, "Garl, can you open this please?"

If the treasure chest is open, Vek looks inside it, hoping to find something to help locate the Fatman.

Tella - Elf Mage

Tella will walk over to the chest as well: Why would he leave anything behind?

Glimble "I believe the term is cut and run Tella. I've heard it since we've come to the place. Garl might have more insight into the application of the term."

Garl for his part neither moved nor made a sound. Indeed he was focused on finding the mage.

You check the beach for tracks but don't find any but your own, and still find no sign of the Fat Man. He proved cowardly in the end and seems to have ran instead of facing you. It is possible he slipped back through the gate and then shut it since you killed all of his guardians.

You check his treasure chest and it is locked, with a lock of good quality. When Vek moves it, there is a pleasing shifting feeling of moneies inside.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

Vek leaves the lock to Garl, assuming he's still lurking around somewhere.

He slowly pivots 360 degrees, eyes to the horizon, looking for any sign of life or civilization.

"Damn."

Roseheart floats close to the ground - not too close to the chest in case there is a nasty surprise waiting - and asks simply "Where the hell are we?"

As Vek looks over the choppy sea first to the north and then south, he sees nothing but the breathtaking view. Then as his eyes take it all in, he catches a glimpse of something in the south.

There are the spires of a city along a lonely mountain at the edge of the sea, outlined in silver and nearly blending into the grey clouds. It could be Waterdeep, and whatever city it is, it is probably only a day or two of walking to get there.
