blue - that's it for now, those skulls hit you with a hold person and once in their control had plenty of time to enslave Forrest. Let's see how this assault on the keep plays out.

Team - you move as planned toward the Fat Mans keep, hoping that Forrest will catch up, but based on the sounds in the distance and the flicker of magical energy - expecting the worst.

The whole of the heart must be focused on that battle, for only a few hushed groups pass by while you proceed to the keep. When you get there, Enoka notices that more torches than usual are lit at the perimeter.

Veks information includes a little more about the keep. The main building has guest rooms on the second level and an open hall on the first level. At the back other hall are two passageways down into the dark, typically guarded by the lower garrison. The lower and upper garrison don't mix. Almost all other buildings are purely funconal for defence, maintenance, and to hold transport equipment, like carts and mules. There are also outer buildings where the upper garrison and the orcs sleep and play cards when not on duty.

Looking at the structure, you come in closer and Vek prepares his potion. Heading through the front gate would get you right into the main keep. Vek may only need a sip to go ghostly for a few moments so you can try that first, since quaffing an entire bottle will lead to a long transition.

In these final moments, the length of your preparation is behind you, the keep and its dangers before you, and also an unknown number of captives. Will you have your final revenge on the Fat Man?

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

Vek rasps, "If we each take a sip of the potion, maybe the effects last long enough for each of us to pass through the wall. I can go first."

DM: Will we get the map you mentioned? Just want to pick a quiet spot to enter. Thanks.
RIP Forrest.

Glimble looks at the keep and stirs a bit "At this time I am not sure we will yet survive this. I think we lost our opportune time for this. However if we are going forward I'm with you."

I agree with Glimble, we are a team but I think our task is borderline suicide at this point.

I'll try to get you guys a map tomorrow or on the weekend - so you can pick the best entry point. A few of you are unsure as you stand before the keep. You guys still pushing forward with the attack and rescue?

Yes. Still in. The skulls are distracted. The fatman is not sure what just happened. We've just learned lots of his secrets. In several hours, when he discovers the "H" ward is missing, he'll reset his magic security. It's now or never. We won't have this advantage again.

"This is what I saw from above. A three sided keep with towers at each point. Each tower looks to be connected to the walls, possibly by internal passage ways. We can assume the internal builds are also connected to the wall. Guards move from the outbuildings to the keep from time to time. There are two back doors on the keep, which they seem to use. The whole courtyard was crawling with mindless decaying beings moving in a zombi like fashion. They only drift about and don't attack guards. It was hard to tell the total above ground force, but I saw six humans and at least 3-5 dozen orcs. The orcs are manning slits on the perimeter mostly armed with scimitars and crossbows."

Here is a really bad sketch that the guard did with tied hands in the alley.

A - main entry door
B - circular stairs to second level on weight and left
C - massive table
D,E - second floor, guest beds right and left
F,G - cubby areas with stairs lead on into depths.

The victims are kept down in there somewhere.

The guard also confirmed that the other builds are barracks

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

Vek looks at the group. Roseheart was on board. Maybe Enoka too. Forrest had wandered off again. Of Garl there was still no sign. Glimble said:
GreyWolfVT wrote:"... However if we are going forward I'm with you."
And Tella reluctantly agreed.

Vek nods in gratitude, "The door may be warded. Let's pass through the wall."
The grim warrior takes one small sip of the potion of phasing, places the flask on the ground at the party's feet and staggers like a drunk toward the Fatman's keep. He leans up against the stone wall to the right of the front door, apparently to rest in its shadows. Or maybe to vomit. And then he falls through the wall. (near B)

Thanks for the map, DM. Where are the Fatman's quarters in the keep, please? Upstairs?
Dads, your great map was unattached. Including it here:

Roseheart watches quietly as Vek melts through the wall. Looking side to side at his comrades he sips the potion and places it back down. He'll push himself through wall when his instincts are to not do anything of the sort. He debates his prepared repertoire of spells in readiness of what is on the other side. He follow's his long-time companion to the what fate awaits them....

Glimble the gnomes mind races wondering about Forrest and Garl hoping they are still alive and unharmed. Macing through his thoughts are many possibilities as to how this will go the travelling Gondsman hopes that this is not his final day, of all places spent in this hellish underworld of villains with some surprisingly wonderful flashes of good in the tinker gnomes and the clocktower made by fellow gondsmen. The little gnome takes up his boom stick things of the spells he can use to benefit the group and readies for the signal for the rest of them to enter as he watches Vek a holy warrior that has changed much since the last time he met the man. "May Gond enlighten me in this hour of need. May each of your prospective gods smile upon you all as well friends."
