Glimble who didn't sleep very well due to worrying about Forrest wakes as Tella's call to Vek grabs his firearm and comes out to see what is going on. "What is it Tella? What did you see?" he says in a soft whisper like tone.

Roseheart pushes his himself up - now alert to Tella's warning - and thinking 'now what?"

Garl sleeps unless someone has a way to find him to wake him.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

The big warrior is on his feet, sword suddenly in hand.
"Where?" he rasps to his friend Tella, eyes scanning, eager for the chance to work out his frustrations with bloodshed and murder.

Tella - Elf Mage

Tella gestures toward where she heard the sounds. In a whisper: There is at least one, maybe more things close by. Not the wildlife, something else.

One by one Tella wakes the crew except for Garl who she can't see - which is typical for the halfling.

You guys hunker in the darkness, pulling together weapons and donning armor. Then you hear another crack and rustle - further away and possibly moving away from the group....

The forest is silent except for that lone crack, but Tella was right... something unnatural is out there.

Tella - Elf Mage

I am not sure what it is nor how it moves. We best get ready for the day ahead: open the chest and start moving toward Waterdeep?

Vek silently waits and watches, sword at the ready.

spanning, I think we need to cast Dispel Magic on the chest before we open it. That will take prayer or study.

Glimble the gnome looks towards where the sound is coming from to see if his infravision shows anything unless it is already too light out.

Nobody had a dispel magic spell when you left the dungeon. All of the casters now have refreshed spells. You can dispel or detect magic on the chest at will.

Whatever that noise was hasn't returned yet, but Veks warrior senses are tingling, something about the forest isn't right.

Tella - Elf Mage

Unbecoming to say for an elf but I think we should move away from the forest..... this place is not ours.

Glimble nods and begins to pack his stuff and dress back in his armor.

Tella's vote is to get the heck out of dodge. Does anybody second her? If so, I'll move you forward.

Glimble shakes his head in agreement "Good idea however I've got plenty of my own things to carry. But I agree with Tella let us leave the area near the forest and head back to Waterdeep."

OK folks somebody roll me up a d10.

You begin moving forward toward the forest edge in a loose line ( let me know who grabbed the chest, in case it became important). You guys are moving cautiously and reasonably quiet.

Roseheart picks up one side of the chest to let the fighter types lead the way. He looks around for help if he can't manage it by himself.
