Re: OOC Discussion
Torchbearer is probably better in a face-to-face environment, especially with people you know. I was always "hesitant" to chime in here since I don;t really know anyone.

Re: I would like to run a PbF game of Advanced HeroQuest
I'm not sure, I've never run a game here before. What route should I take first? Post something to see if there is interest?

I'm still interested in continuing. I do have something I would like to do to try to get the sword.

Re: Chapter 1: The Righteous Go Free
Tancred Is the sword still visible? Could you explain where it is? Floating in the air? Hanging from something, etc. We still have 3 turns before the Grind happens again, the troll should be driven off until a new session, so we should not have to worry about it. With all our conditions I don;t thi...

Re: OOC Discussion
Since not all of us are disguised as trolls, could the undisguised be "taken" by the disguised ones? Telling the real troll "There's more of us than of you, so we's takin' yer food"

Re: OOC Discussion
How about something like this? Ganna disguises us as trolls, and then we draw the real troll outside by convincing him there's a lot of tasty food outside. The troll apparently speaks Common so we use that, with a guttural accent if possible.

Re: OOC Discussion
Could Ganna ride on one of our shoulders and then cast an illusion over both so they appear as one larger cresture, say a bigger troll? Then the others could be smaller trolls or orcs?

Re: OOC Discussion
Hey group: how's this for a plan. Haar distracts the troll with an in-depth discussion on edible cave fungus and lichens, we sneak out and I'll hide nearby, the rest of you further away or keep going. Once you're away and the troll is intently examining some fungus I'll throw a rock from my hiding p...

Tancred
While the brave halfling distracts the troll with menu plans, and hoping he will draw the troll over to an area with "edible" lichens away from the main cave, I'll quietly untie anyone who isn't free.

Re: OOC Discussion
On the conflict we lost, do we record a pass/fail based on what skill we used? I boiled down the conflict to this: Round, Hero, Action vs Action, Skill Used, Result Round 1 Tancred, Maneuver vs Attack, Will, 5s vs 4s - Pass Grimm, Attack vs Feint, Fighter, 7s - Pass Ganna, Defend vs Maneuver, Will, ...

Re: Chapter 1: The Righteous Go Free
Tancred lies quietly, but not without subtle movement. He's using his spurs to try to saw through his bonds. He's thinking that this has to be done, we cannot fail this, and it's the only we I can get everyone out of this situation. He hopes he doesn't break them, but it is something that can be sac...

Re: OOC Discussion
Are we playing with the optional rule that simultaneous and independent tests by everyone only advance the Grind by 1? So if I'm sawing through my bonds while the others are trying to escape that is only 1 to the Grind?Sure. +1D on your Criminal test, Ob 2.

Re: OOC Discussion
Sorry I haven't been around, my office has changed my team off 4 from 2 on day shift and 2 on evening shift to 1 on duty and 3 on-call / standby. And this is my week to work. And I missed the notification of a new message. So I gather that we're all tied up. Weaponless. But do we still have our rain...

Re: OOC Discussion
If the troll just drags us back to its lair, if it drags our packs with us, do you think that if we dump all our food, plus some wine if we have it, into a back corner of where ever he puts us. Maybe the "enticing" aroma of our fine food will distract it long enough so we can run?
