Re: OOG: Game

Hi, I'm afraid I'm going to bow out, I'm afraid the pace and nature of the game is proving more frustrating than enjoyable for me. Hope it all goes well, though!

Re: OOG: Game

I re read Recon - the CES version gives us both "perception" and “stealth” skills as below: Oh, cool, I hadn't looked at the skills properly and was still running of my MgT2e knowledge. In that case, Joe will probably get some vehicle skills - maybe Grav or Wheeled vehicle, not sure which...

Re: OOG: Game

Have I missed a basic briefing somewhere? Or is Lady Jane someone I could start asking about background, and the basic facts of the disappearance?

Also, can I train a skill I don't have? Whistler would be a bit more useful with Stealth...

Re: (004) Aboard The Old Dream

Sigrun uses the gym - a lot. She will happily train alongside anyone but it seems what she really needs is someone to train against . She is fiercely competitive. Joe Whistler - he starts going by Whistler more, with another Joe aboard - also has a fierce competitive edge. He has trouble keeping up...

"So long as you don't snore... louder than the others," Joe says agreeably.

Re: (004) Aboard The Old Dream

Joe shakes his head as he stands in front of the fridge and cracks a beer. "Daibei. Man! Hope you didn't leave too much behind." His voice slows, and he winces slightly, as he finishes the sentence, before looking up at the approaching Lady Jane with relief. "Hey, this must be our new...

Re: (004) Aboard The Old Dream

"Infantry, mostly, though I did some time in Intelligence. Daibei?" he shakes his head. "Man, and I thought I got screwed."

Inside: "Any clue where I can bunk? And are there any more of those beers?" he grins.

Re: Character Portraits in Daz 3D

As you may have seen with Zaki, I use Daz 3D to generate character portraits. If you would like me to make one up for you, please let me know. I generally set up a Skype session, and walk through the process with the owner. Is there a place for them? If so I may just use a photo of Brian Patrick Wa...

Re: (004) Aboard The Old Dream

The new arrival smiles, with a slight tenseness, perhaps from embarrasment. "Army, Captain Joe Whistler. Back in Vland, though. Don't suppose anyone else is from that side of the Corridor?" he asks, his smile more tense now but something in his eyes a little hopeful.

Re: (004) Aboard The Old Dream

Another taxi pulls up further down the dock, and a tall, well-built man who appears to be about thirty but is dressed more like someone in his early twenties, in a tight "muscle" shirt and slim fit jeans. He approaches a free trader docked two berths down, drops his bags and appears to hav...

Not sure if I should be turning up also at this point, or if I'm getting hired/written in later, let me know.

Re: Character Generation

Okay, so I was vaguely modelling Joe on Brad "Iceman" Colbert from Generation Kill, but then I looked at his rank and INT score and decided he needs to be "Encino Man" instead: A jock; brave, ambitious, dumb as a brick, and somewhat defensive when challenged. Joe doesn't have the...

Re: Character Generation

Surface Defence looks great actually - I managed to miss that entirely! - so I'll stick with Cepheus. So, basic training + Private rank: Mechanic-0, Gun Combat-1, Gunnery-0, Melee Combat-0, Recon-0, Battle Dress-0. As I know I'm going that route, I'll be cheeky and change my background skills to Str...

I'm guessing that means you only get 5 skills at 0 from basic training, though?

Re: Character Generation

Okay, so Army. Are we using CT, or Mongoose 1e/Cepheus? The Service skills (for Basic Training) are very different; don't like the look of the CT ones much at all (ATV and Air/Raft as separate skills), and Gun Combat is in their twice - so would he pick it up at level 0 or 1?

Re: Character Generation

I'm pretty sure Frank's character has Engineering covered. Since we're in the same time zone please feel free to PM me I'm happy to help. Okay, I'm going to re-roll him using the roller, which I *think* I've got the basics of, and hope for something more gun-ny. One question: Can we assign rolls to...

Re: OOC: Introductions

Yeah, I don't know what I'd do without that map! Just wish it specified law levels. The campaign in starting soon is MgT1 Secrets of the Ancients, so that'll start out near Regina also.

Re: Character Generation

Based on what I'm seeing in the other thread, you could really use someone with more engineering or gun skills than Joe; I'm happy to re-roll if you like. Frankly I will happily sit down and make a few characters just to play the creation mini-game so it's no problem :) Edit: Or I could just swap my...
