Re: 000 Meeting at The Duck Pond

Carsta leans forward to examine the wound on her leg. Seeing that it's minor, she takes a bandage of questionable cleanliness from her bag and wraps it. "Oh! Please allow me to help," Hellebore exclaims, trying to interrupt her before the bandage touches the wound. She intones some eldrit...

Re: Character Creation

So dual wielding does not allow the option to use the off hand weapon to parry for example? No, not as such. There is a Parry maneuver that is part of the Battlemaster fighter sub-class that you can pick at 3rd level (so not in the Basic Rules). That sub-class lets you do special moves 4x per Short...

Re: Character Creation

Thank you for the advice Marullus! I think Breastplate (AC14) only allows +2 from Dex right? So I could go with a Chain Shirt (AC13), and end up with the same AC? All the medium armors limit your Dex bonus to +2. So, Chain Shirt is 13+2= 15. Scale Armor is 14+2 =16 bus has disadvantage on dex/Steal...

Re: Character Creation

My AC seems pretty... Low when I am dual-wielding (AC14). Is that how it is supposed to be, or am I missing something? Should I be wearing a better armor than Leather? Also any suggestion for a useful cantrip for a dual wielder Fighter are welcome :) 5e noob questions :P He can upgrade to Studded L...

Re: Character Creation

(From a 5e perspective, magic items are tiered by "rarity" - Common items are largely cosmetic, Uncommon items are the early Adventurer finds and include +1 Weapons. When starting at level 3+ it isn't abnormal for the DM to allow one starting item at the Uncommon level or lower. You can so...

Re: 000 Meeting at The Duck Pond

An effervescent young woman comes to the table shortly after the four haggard Adventurers sit down. She stands just shorter than the table edge, so lifts a round tray above head to slide it onto the tabletop, full of tankards of ale, before she climbs onto a chair to pop fully into view herself. &qu...

Re: Character Creation

Level 1=3+INT, Level 2 add 3 more, etc. Hellebore is Wizard-2, so starts with 9 spells, your choice among Tier 0 and Tier 1 Spells, you won't have access to Tier 2 spells until Wizard-3. I'm returning to advance a Tier on odd Levels.   [*]There is no limit on spell levels known - higher-level spell...

Willow again watches their rear at the doorway. Her bow comes up, the pinched face of the Halfling woman wary. "Who the hell are you?"

Nicely done! I love the assassin twist! (unless you can CLW his injury, not sure how many healing spells you have left for the day). It's a new day, so two. Definitely use one now. She's not letting all the relationship building with Ananxyrus go to waste. Flaming sword ahead of her parting the cro...

"The stone will remember..." answers Lharzin cryptically to Arngeir as she kneels down on the large flat circle, placing both hands on the ground. She rises with a heavy sigh after crouching motionless for long time. "...but today they keep their secrets. Let's get away from here and...

Re: Character Creation

Thanks for posting your new magic rules. I'm going to make sure I've understood them correctly, and the changes that need to happen on the character(s) accordingly. For Wizards: (This overrides both 5e and Hardmode rules, which all vary greatly from this and each other.) We start with 3+ INT MOD spe...

So many skills! Alright, definitely you can get help from Ku-Aya on the Great Wizards-wise test. After you test, remember to mark the test on your sheet, pass or fail it still counts. If you fail, you glean no information. I will grant a Symbology Test, but I will give you +1 Ob because it was so d...

Re: Chapter 1: The Black City

Excellent! Glad it was worth the effort! One thing to note: I have offered a Test, but if you feel any others might be appropriate, you can ask for a different one. This is a development, and it is possible it awakens a memory in Nutesh. You may make a Great Wizards-wise roll. The obstacle is 3. Th...

Re: [002] A Temple and a Tomb

Light: I scrolled back. It looks like Ulfgar is the torchbearer. Naugrim provided the new torch about the same time as he cast Shield, so we should be on turn 2/10 for this torch. So... we now have two lights, Ulfgar at the front and Wendell with the enchanted candelabra at the back (which doesn't ...
