Re: Character Creation
Interesting idea. Do you have a history of running off? ...depends how overprotective you are. :) Hellebore is probably prone to chasing opportunities in ways you consider unwise. Perhaps you were scouting ahead and I came along as soon as possible? Also fair. This establishes they instead have a m...

Sounds great!
...did I know you were coming (same boat) or did I try to run off without you?

Awesome! This will be great. :) This is what I had for her so far. Hellebore Thistledown's Personality Traits: I 'm used to helping out those who aren't as smart as I am, and I patiently explain anything and everything to others. There's nothing I like more than a good mystery. Hellebore Thistledown...

"Actually, no one has mentioned the scepter being magical," offers Naugrim . "The scepter gives a goblin the rightful claim to be Goblin King. The legendary warrior entombed here killed the last goblin king and kept it, so the goblins haveve been squabbling among themselves ever sinc...

I love that Wendel has taken a counterpoint position to Naugrim and is representing the pro-Ord point of view.

Re: 000 Meeting at The Duck Pond
Hellbore graciously accepts the hot wine from deFrancisco, returning his respectful nod and matching the drink of the four beleagered companions. The large cup looks like a tankard between her small hands. She then quietly takes two of the four tankards of ale off the wooden tray she brought first,...

Kaida's Location:
I suppose Kaida should be in the 13-16 area for casting the Smokes of Nai spell. For Minoru to be able to see her and the action inside the compound, he might need to be around the 3 area. But south of the bamboo, which is around 20 ft tall.

Just pass the edge of the firelight, Nutesh lies in a meditative state, his senses all cast out to a far away bird, his body in the middle of a magic circle with a ghostly girl looking on... while everyone else argues at the campfire about using magic. What a scene for me to agree to miss!

Is studded leather instead of leather okay at third level?
I wasn't suggesting you allow him the 200gp Breastplate, just stating its the best he can aspire to.

Linder will rise and stop her. "Pay him no mind, Miss. He's had a very bad week. We all have. Thank you for the drinks. We appreciate them. Please. Join us." Hellebore stops and looks at Linder gratefully. "Thank you," she says placing her small hand on his, "but its only a...

Carsta leans forward to examine the wound on her leg. Seeing that it's minor, she takes a bandage of questionable cleanliness from her bag and wraps it. "Oh! Please allow me to help," Hellebore exclaims, trying to interrupt her before the bandage touches the wound. She intones some eldrit...

Re: Character Creation
So dual wielding does not allow the option to use the off hand weapon to parry for example? No, not as such. There is a Parry maneuver that is part of the Battlemaster fighter sub-class that you can pick at 3rd level (so not in the Basic Rules). That sub-class lets you do special moves 4x per Short...

Re: Character Creation
Thank you for the advice Marullus! I think Breastplate (AC14) only allows +2 from Dex right? So I could go with a Chain Shirt (AC13), and end up with the same AC? All the medium armors limit your Dex bonus to +2. So, Chain Shirt is 13+2= 15. Scale Armor is 14+2 =16 bus has disadvantage on dex/Steal...

My AC seems pretty... Low when I am dual-wielding (AC14). Is that how it is supposed to be, or am I missing something? Should I be wearing a better armor than Leather? Also any suggestion for a useful cantrip for a dual wielder Fighter are welcome :) 5e noob questions :P He can upgrade to Studded L...

Re: Character Creation
(From a 5e perspective, magic items are tiered by "rarity" - Common items are largely cosmetic, Uncommon items are the early Adventurer finds and include +1 Weapons. When starting at level 3+ it isn't abnormal for the DM to allow one starting item at the Uncommon level or lower. You can so...

Re: 000 Meeting at The Duck Pond
An effervescent young woman comes to the table shortly after the four haggard Adventurers sit down. She stands just shorter than the table edge, so lifts a round tray above head to slide it onto the tabletop, full of tankards of ale, before she climbs onto a chair to pop fully into view herself. &qu...
