Re: 1. The hunt ends?

Given my general lack of combat-ness, Boggs do you agree Dunwick hit the bond that you "...don't trust him, and rightfully so?" My alignment is to avoid a conflict or defuse a tense situation... don't think that was hit this session. As for the 3 questions, the good thing about session 1 i...

Re: 1. The hunt ends?

Rather sheepishly, Dunwick makes his way down from the tree. Here doctor, I can't do much in a fight, but maybe I can at least soothe your injuries.. Drawing his lute again, he takes up a more somber tune that might calm the doctor's frayed nerves and help bind his wounds. That's Arcane Art again, a...

Re: 1. The hunt ends?

With sword and lute in hand (and dignity nowhere to be seen, for now) Dunwick finds himself reminded why he never used to leave the city. Give me a good lamp to climb... wait, that's it! Stowing his effects for the moment, Dunwick heaves himself up out of the stream and up the nearest tree. He's not...

Re: 1. The hunt ends?

Here goes!

[2d6+0] = 2+0 = 2

Well I was going to roll discern realities as well to keep the action going, but with a roll like that...

Re: 1. The hunt ends?

Bah! Everyone's a critic! Wiping the lute's strings clear of blood with one hand, Dunwick starts backing away at speed from the approaching gnolls. He's got his sword - for all his 'skill' at using it - and bow, but really he needs to find something in the environment to give him an edge. What do y...

Re: 1. The hunt ends?

Although violence isn't always the answer, Dunwick sees no shame in being prepared! Drawing his lute from his back, he starts to thrum a quick, energetic tune - something to get Bedwyr's blood going. I'm going for my arcane art move, weaving a performance into a basic spell to help my ally (Bedwyr, ...

Re: Character generation

Boggs doesn't trust me, and for good reason. Boggs and I might not have formally met before, but it doesn't take a genius to work out I'm that 'bloody lamplighter' who gazumped her husband all those years ago. And, even if I don't admit it to myself, he's right to mistrust my intentions. I'm not lo...

Re: Character generation

Dunwick: what inspired you to write a ballad about Oelle? How about something to do with him proving strength of intellect over strength of muscle or blade. (Perhaps there was a previous encounter when we were both out in the wood, and Oelle's quick thinking saved our lives?) A woman named Onde is ...

Re: The OOC Tavern

Regarding alignment: in Dungeon World, alignment moves can shift over time. From the book: "Alignment can, and will, change. Usually such a change comes about as a gradual move toward a decisive moment. [...] In some cases a player character may switch alignment moves while still keeping the sa...

Re: Introduction & the basics

Same! I'm Joe, I've also been gaming for about 15 years off and on, and I live in the UK. I've gone on record about how much I love Dungeon World, and Matt's already mentioned I've played it quite a bit already. I aim to produce 3 Dungeon World adventures every month for free on my site (supported b...

Re: Character generation

Let's say you were a lamplight in Urbem, the imperial city where Oelle studied. What was life like for you there? Not too bad, if you kept to yourself. My lighter's license meant I could stay out after curfew, although plenty of constables would claim it had "expired", given half a chance...

Re: The OOC Tavern

FYI, your max HP is +Constitution (the big number) not +CON (the small number). Off the top of my head I think that's the only rule that uses the big number as a modifier. (Note your load is determined by your +STR, not your strength. Poor old Dunwick can carry 9+STR - since my STR is -1, he can onl...

Re: Character generation

Dunwick spent most of his life as a humble lamplight, learning what he could about the world from what he saw on the streets below his lamps. Last year, an unexpected gift of a noble's lute set him on the path to bard-dom. He hides his greying hair and shallow frame beneath well-kept leathers and a...

Hi there!

Greetings! I'm Joe (aka JBinc). I was invited here to play some games, and that's what I intend to do! You might also know me as that guy who does all the adventure PDFs for Dungeon World, through Patreon and other stuff. My earliest experiences with gaming were back in my teens with Warhammer Fanta...
