I'm back! Thanks for holding the for... OMFG! What kind of unholy clusterfuck have you gotten us into?!

Mumbling a constant stream of "ohdearohdearohdear," Deet charges forward to jab his bayonet at the terrible ape thing's face. With valiant barks and growls, ever-faithful Schroff dodges in to snap at its ankles.

Deet – bayonet [1d6] = 3
Schroff – Bite [1d6] = 6

I'm leaving for a couple weeks holiday. I'll be living in a tent and doing the stupid holiday things y'do, so I'd ask for Deet & Schroff to be NPCed if I'm not reacting. I'll have a look in when I can, but can't guarantee much.

Deet nods cheerfully at the fishymen, then turns and shrugs at his companions, and steps back to let the strongest among them try the door. Schroff keeps watchful eyes on the fishymen.

Deet lets out a heavy breath, and wipes his forehead, "ah, good friends, water but not under water. Good good yup yup." He pats one of the fishermen lightly on the shoulder, and looks around for his beefiest companion... Raising a brow at the fishermen, he asks, "um, the, ah, men the...

Schroff keeps an eye on the fishymen as he trots along, growling when appropriate. At the door, Deet puts a hand on it, and side-eyes the fishymen, "what's on the other side, um... friends? You're not men like us, so, um... is it water ? This door looks very wet, yup yup..." He glances ba...

Deet blinks between his various companions, shrugs, and says, "where else are we going to go? Quiet, odd fishymen are better than huge, ugly apes. Yup yup?" He steps out into the bigger room, and nods at his friends to follow the fishymen. Schroff trots loyally along with him.

Deet leans over Splinters, and calls out in a stage whisper, "hello? Friends? No hurt... friends... come here?" He gives Splinters an uncertain look and wrings his hands around his musket. Schroff sits back on his haunches and whines once.

Deet keeps his musket more or less aimed, but whispers to Splinters and anyone else near enough, "shooting's loud. Ape'll come back for sure... and maybe the fish-faces are also avoiding him? Maybe we could make friends?"

Deet nods solemnly at Horton, pats him on the shoulder, and readies his musket. Schroff sets his jaw.

Deet raises his musket, jaw muscles bulging as he clenches his teeth, and almost pulls the trigger. He blinks rapidly, "ummm, we have to go through there... don't we?"

Deet looks somewhat uncertainly between his companions in the room of urns and those by the now unsealed door, then limps down the hall to join the Princess, Schroff trotting at his heels.

Map update...Shaken by his chilly brush with the portal tapestry, Deet follows the others into the room of urns, but keeps a watch by the corridor, musket and Schroff at the ready.

Deet hops around on one foot, "owowowowowowowie!" eventually falling to the floor. He begins gingerly stripping his pantaloons off as Schroff circles him, whining.

Deet takes a careful step forward, and stomps on a corner of the portarpaulin, to anchor it in place. If the pirates have cleared the door enough for it to close, he nods at the Princess to do so, before picking up the corner and attempting to lift the tarp up between himself and the pirates, porta...
