Re: Character creation questions

I'm going with a Human Fighter. I'll try to have the character template up later today. Don't forget to add a Pickaxe to your Gear. HP are only 16; you don't add the CON bonus to the total. AC is 14 when you include the armor and shield bonuses. You already got Detection as a skill from your backgr...

Re: Character creation questions

I think Shysie is done. Please look her over carefully. Envisioning her a a shorter than average Half-Skorn. Galley Slave grants you +1 Will so adjust to 18. Also add the Watercraft skill and a Fishing Rod to your Gear. Rerolls are 1 since you are not Human. Death save is 10 + 3 (Will mod) + 2 (rac...

Re: Character creation questions

Okay, I should be good. I assumed that, like in BX, racial languages are a freebie, so speak Argosan, Dwarven, and Goblin. I haven't done any shopping yet, since I want to see hooks before making a decision. What do you mean by hooks? Like adventure hooks? There is very little about languages in th...

Re: Character creation questions

I had posted about it in the Interest thread but forgot to copy it over here. It's in the History of Argosa thread now.

Argosan is the setting's equivalent of Common.

If you are a Dwarf, we'll assume you know both Dwarvish and Argosan.

Re: History of Argosa

Languages Humans speak one of Argosan, Karok, Nydissian, Thuel, and/or Varnori. For the purposes of the game, we'll treat Argosan like Common, even if your PC is not a Midlander. Other languages include: Dragon Dwarven Elven Fey Giant (including Bugbear, Gnoll, Ogre, Troll) Goblin (including Hobgob...

Re: IC I

Themon shrugs. Maybe they fought among themselves for the right to the treasure? Dirk, have a go at lassoing the chest and let's see if it moves any easier.

Re: IC I

In fact, Themon continues, Megshag, you have some rope. Pull it out and hand it over.

Assuming Megshag does so, Themon attempts to rope a corpse and pull it toward the door.

Re: IC I

Themon says, Might be better to lasso a corpse or two and drag them over. They're less likely to be trapped and we can examine them to see how they died.

Re: Character creation questions

Almost done with my character. Sully, can you look it over when you get a chance and let me know if there's anything I need to adjust? There's a couple of things I need to add, but it's mostly done. Background is actually something you either roll for or choose off the list on pgs 8-9. It grants an...

Tiarsus will attempt to trigger the door using the square of flooring.
From a distance, I hope! Do we have a 10' pole or something similar, just to be on the safe side?

Re: IC I

Themon turns to his colleagues. We should search for secret doors, too. Sometimes the lock is just a fake designed to hide the real door.

Map of Argosa: https://lowfantasygaming.com/2017/05/17/the-midlands-argosa-low-magic-setting-region-map/ You will note the three major Argosan cities of Northgate, Port Brax, and Crow's Keep. There is a relatively new Nydissian settlement to the south called Melek. The Karoks, and their dwarven slav...
